Our Spring Soccer Camp took place on a beautiful day at Fort Washington elementary school. The weather could not be more perfect for soccer. Every year the camp evolves to become a better, funner version of itself. This year we had dedicated stations that included drills, scrimmage, a penalty shoot out, team building, strength/conditioning and of course, the free healthy snack bar (sponsored by Calviva). Even through it’s only a few hours on a quiet Sunday, the kids that attend touch our hearts. We hope their journey as soccer players brings them joy and treats them well.
5 Year Anniversary!
Since our inception in 2019, Level the Playing Field has been committed to breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive environment for youth soccer in Fresno. We believe that every child should have access to the joys and benefits of playing soccer, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. Through our various programs, including coaching clinics, equipment donations, and scholarships, we have worked tirelessly to make this vision a reality.
As Level the Playing Field Fresno celebrates its remarkable journey of five years, we reflect on the transformative power of soccer in the lives of our youth. To celebrate this special milestone, we are delighted to announce that we are offering five $1000 scholarships towards competitive soccer fees. More information about the application will be released in May 2024, before the competitive soccer tryout window.
The importance of giving away soccer balls
Today we worked to fulfill one of our initiatives to distribute youth soccer balls to aspiring athletes in our community. These soccer balls represent more than just equipment; they symbolize the dreams and aspirations of children who deserve the chance to play, learn, and grow through sports.
By giving away soccer balls, we're not just providing a tool for play; we're fostering a sense of belonging, promoting physical health, and nurturing the next generation of leaders and champions. But our work doesn't stop here; it's about leveling the playing field for all youth, regardless of their socioeconomic status or background. It's about creating a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive, both on and off the field.
As we distribute these soccer balls today, we are reminded of the impact that a simple act of kindness can have. We hope we can continue to champion equality, inclusion, and opportunity in every aspect of our work.
